March Potluck Dinners! RSVP Now!

March is the perfect time to bring a Dame nominee to meet current members, and what better way than to break bread together in a warm and friendly environment. Let’s shake off winter and and gather around the table with old friends and new. Choose any one of three dinners but seats are limited so don’t wait to sign up or there (literally) won’t be room for you at the table! (These are free events but each guest is required to bring a prepared dish. Tuesday, March 24, Potluck Dinner at the downtown Chicago home of Dame Mary Abbot Hess, Theme: A Favorite Family Recipe. This one is all about home cooking, gals! We may have come a long way in our culinary journeys, but most of us still have that one family recipe that we always come back to – the one that fills our homes with the aromas of days gone by and memories of loved ones. Tuesday, March 24, Potluck Dinner at the west suburban River Forest home of Dame Rita Gutekanst, Theme: “Spring Awakening!” Let’s face it – by March we are all looking forward to the end of the winter doldrums and every possible sign of spring is welcome! Snow covered daffodils? Maybe, but we’ll be taking it indoors at Rita’s house and will feast on a potluck meal of seasonal spring offerings. Tuesday, March 31, Potluck Dinner at the north suburb home of Dame Nancy Brussat Theme: “Moonstruck! Your Favorite Italian-American Recipe” Does anyone remember a time when Italian food was “foreign”? Immigrants have always brought their culinary gifts to America and over time the traditional recipes, like the immigrants themselves, adapt to their new environment in interesting and creative ways!
