Pictures from the LDE Chicago Holiday Brunch

By Dame Amelia Levin

The Annual LDE Chicago Holiday Brunch was a success! Over 20 dames gathered at Prairie Grass Cafe in Northbrook to catchup and chat, sip and nosh on amazing food prepared by Chef and Co-Owner Dame Sarah Stegner.

The meal kicked off with a platter of fresh fruit, hot coffee and mimosas, followed by eggs benedict with Dame Sarah’s famous lemon hollandaise sauce and homemade quinoa cakes in place of English muffins. The Dames also enjoyed a salad of roasted grapes, toasted pumpkin seeds, fresh greens and local cheese, along with a spread of warm, grilled vegetables with a basil remoulade dipping sauce. None of us could resist the amazingly tender and not-too-sweet carrot cake muffins stuffed with cream cheese for dessert.

Always a highly anticipated and enjoyable event, we thanked Dame Karen Levin for organizing the holiday brunch again this year after many years. We’ll look forward to the next one!
