We are dedicated to promoting the achievement of women in the food, beverage, and hospitality industries by fostering excellence through educational opportunities with our scholarship program and supporting the charitable efforts of local non-profits in the Chicagoland area.
The LDEI Green Tables Initiative is a chapter-led program that was created to deepen the relationship between locally grown food at farms and gardens with school and community led programs as well as restaurants and kitchen tables. Our chapter participates in Green Tables to provide programs and events that connect the community with fresh, sustainable foods and foodways through cooking classes, demonstrations, tastings, gardening projects, farmers’ market programming and more.
Since 1985, we have given almost $1 million in the forms of scholarships and charitable giving through our Green Tables program.
